I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and married my high-school sweetheart. Together they traveled for a number of years before attending college. My education includes a BA, MA, a law degree from the George Washington University, and later an LLM from the University of Washington. Currently, I live in Maple Valley with my husband and three lovely boys who constantly keep me on my toes. At age 44 through an over-the-counter DNA test, I discovered I had an NPE (Non-Paternity Event) and I am Jewish. Having an NPE means I’ve needed to reconcile being raised halfBlack with my new Jewish identity. Any moment of free quiet time I can find is spent storytelling, learning about my new heritage, reading, cooking, knitting, and advocating for NPE rights.
